Antelope Valley Ballet: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Shakespeare on pointe!

I took my six-year old daughter to see Antelope Valley Ballet's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" this weekend (Sunday, May 4, 2 p.m. matinee) at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center. What a lovely show, and what amazing dance talent we have right under our noses here in the Antelope Valley!

AVB pulls its talent from dance schools all over the area, including Extensions, Laity, Dance Magic, Dance Evolutions, and Dancin' In Acton.

I've been itching to bust out my film cameras lately, and also B&W has been catching my eye in photography mags. I'm planning on heading up to Red Rock Canyon for the day, probably on Saturday to do some photography and a little hiking. Let me know if anyone wants to come along.

Any other photographers here?

My Flickr gallery is here:

Reality Television

Time to start getting some more debates going.

A lot of people are addicted to reality programs, and with the recent writers strike, we saw a surge in "reality" and game show programming. Here's where it gets interesting.

This is, I guess, for those who actually watch TV. What are your opinions on reality programs? Vote in the poll, then justify.

I put this in the Other Arts forum, since screen acting is an art form....to a degree

A good friend of mine I've known since high school is now a rising model down in LA. She has what I'm pretty sure is her first showcase at the end of the month. There is a myspace event page that she has put up that has all the details. I don't know if it will work into my schedule yet, but if I can make it I'll probably go.

I still love performing, and would love to session magic with any aspiring magicians.
