JAY: Your magic was wonderful! Fantastic work with the card trick, and way to "hold it together" despite the near-loss of your little one! More breath-taking than a David Copperfield performance!

Yep, you read that right--Shakespeare for kids. Really, really little kids, to be precise.

Keltron and I have taken on the monumental and VERY FUN task of directing a pared-down version of The Bard's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to the kids at Lancaster Montessori School. The kids, aged 3-7, are learning one of Shakespeare's most-loved comedies and a lot about the illustrious playwright himself.

Henry V: hero or total jerk?

I've read Henry V a few times, and seen it performed twice, though admittedly never by "professionals." The first couple of times I read it, I saw Henry the king as a very noble character; on the surface, he is indeed a very proud and strong leader, first in the charge and full of speech after lengthy speech of patriotic encouragement to his troops. Both times I saw it performed, Henry was portrayed similarly, as a very "good" character.

Just got back from the PPH Children's fesitval. They had face painting, bubbles, karaoke, chalk art, and a real live (mostly) magician. They also staged the Emporer's New Clothes, the kids summer theater camp culmination, and it was very cute. Well done kids! Can't wait to see Alice in Wonderland.

This is not the first opportunity I have had to act in original works; an original musical of Little Women, and SkidZoeFraNya, an original musical about acting in New York...but I am curious about everyone else on the forum...

I recently had to find a way to mix, crop, edit, and join various music files into a bunch of different tracks for our Spotlight show, How I Saved the World. After trying to do so unsuccessfully with iTunes and iMovie (I'm sure there is a way, I just don't know it), I tried a search on the web and found a great free program to do it, Audacity.

The program is available for Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux. The manual is sketchy, so there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you understand ...

One of the central themes of "Will Will Fulfill", Shakespeare's sonnets in performance at the recent Shakespeare Festival at the PPH, was the idea that Shakespeare was a homosexual. In the author's words, "Isn't it obvious to anyone that can read that Shakespeare was gay?"

Now, I know I've heard this idea before, and I know that Joyce Meadows has a lot of experience with the sonnets, but I'm still not convinced.

I have a friend who has been approached by a film producer to use her house to shoot a movie. What sort of compensation is typical for someone allowing production to occur in their house?

I know the answer is probably based on several factors of what they plan on doing, but these are details I lack. Given that, what kind of questions should she be asking them in order for her to come up with reasonable compensation?

I took my six-year old daughter to see Antelope Valley Ballet's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" this weekend (Sunday, May 4, 2 p.m. matinee) at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center. Farewell To Palmdale Playhouse

It's with a heavy heart that I'm posting a sad goodbye to my fellow City Players at Palmdale Playhouse. Effective immediately after the close of The Sonnets (an obligation I will fulfill to completion with a professional attitude), I've withdrawn my involvement with the Playhouse.
